Digital Ambassador Winners

St Mary's College students have once again triumphed in the realm of Technology.

Embracing the call for local students to assist the Queensland Dept. of Transport with the Launch of the Digital Licence App. A competition was announced asking Fraser coast students to represent our region in a campaign to promote the new App and to search for student Ambassadors to assist in the launch across our community. How fortunate is the Fraser coast to have been selected for the first trial and launch of the Digital Licence.

Eager to use their skills in a real world project a number of our Digital design and technology students completed videos and digital posters and submitted entries for this competition.

The launch and announcement of the 6 selected Ambassadors from the Fraser Coast, was booked to happen at the Maryborough Town Hall but due to current restrictions the launch came to St Mary's College instead. Attending was Chris Goh representing the Queensland Transport Department and Fraser Coast Cr Paul Truscott to present our 2 winners with a trophy and gift card. Congratulations again to Nicholas Corsetti and Hayden McIntyre who each won $500 gift card and have been selected to be representatives of this progressive program. The competition was open to all year 10-12 students in the Fraser Coast area where entrants were asked to submit a Digital Flyer or Video showcasing the region and the Digital Licence App.

The special guests Co-announced that St Mary's College was also the Major winner of the Competition, the prize our College received is a $5000 grant to enhance our Digital Technology program even further.

Congratulations to all entrants for the high level of quality submissions, our College's progressive and dynamic technology programs were well suited to such a task.

The Queensland Digital Licence App is being trialled on the Fraser Coast in early 2020 (The current Covid-19 Pandemic has meant the trial is on hold - we are all looking forward to trialling a digital licence soon! ) .

This App will allow Queenslanders to securely and easily store their Licence's digitally.
